Ok it's on it's way. Suggestions welcome
|
The one thing i always wanted to see here, and i even mentioned it in the suggestions forum, is a CATAGORIZED tips section. Tips contributed by visitors and edited to weed out any that are obvious or otherwise not worthwhile. The key i think would be to take all the great little tips we see here every so often and are then lost in the archives leaving a great idea buried where it may come up again or not. Things such as using black kiwi shoe polish to blacken sidewalls, removing D screws and slotting them for a screwdriver, using a rubber cork to seal the airbox after AI removal, etc etc. I cannot for the life of me think of all the great ideas i've seen and those examples aren't even very good compared to some i've seen but are all i can think of, which in itself shows how much this is needed ! But the point is every so often a fantastic idea gets posted then disappears and unless someone remembers it the same question gets asked over and over and these great ideas aren't mentioned. I for one would be willing to PM you any time i see one that seems to be worthy.
Anyway, thats IMO something that would be incredibly valuable. A person who's about to remove the AI and has no idea about the little tricks like that cork for example could simply look under the AI removal category and learn all the things he need to know that would take hours of achive searching here.

I can't imagine this taking away from RAT. This place will thrive the same as it is now because no one is going to leave to go there. Theres the BA forum specifically FOR the cruisers, and i'm here much more than there because this forum is so prolific and always will be much more than a site dedicated to ONE model. People will use both.

I think starting a rival forum is far from what I have in mind. All I want to do is add more Speedmaster information in one place. I feel that this web site has a huge amount of relative information of other sorts. I would also like this to be one of my main featured links as I cannot see anyone being able to replicate or add to what is already here. It’s just that I found when looking for Speedmaster information quite a bit was hidden amongst other stuff making it nearly impossible to find. The amount of information here is so vast that it also gets hidden between all the rest.

Yip I totally agree with you and you won’t see me leaving here in any great rush either. It is only meant to add other info that we do not have specifically for the Speedmaster.

Done, you will however be able to enter this information into our workshop text section.

I've often thought that'd be a great addition to the ba.com site to cutdown some of the repeat questions. Something like this Wiki V-Strom setup.

Have a look it is now up and running. I hope that this will be covered in the workshop area. Click on my web site at the bottom of the post and it will take you there. However information will be reliant on other Speedy owners
