New gearbox 19-tooth sprocket?

I have got a (Steve McQueen T100) coming but, I didn't like the gearing on my test-ride Bonneville? So I have bought a new Engine sprocket with an extra tooth. I want a-more relaxed--ride. (SO!) Am I jumping the gun?

I imagine a 19t sprocket will take a lot of fun out of riding the bike. They are not high revving even with an 18t.

I tried a 19T and didn't like it. There are lots of curves and hills in my area, so it didn't work well in my case. As Slinky says, it took a lot of fun out of riding the bike. YMMV.

I have had three bonnies - a 790 a Thruxton and now a mag wheel and each one had the 19th sprocket before I took it out of the shop. Makes top end much more relaxed, does not affect acceleration to any great extent and is a good and cheap mod. At 75mph I often wish I had a 20th sprocket. Good move, go for it.

I went from a 17t to an 18t on mine and didnt like it. Then I went with a 130/70/17 tire on the rear and I have the best of both worlds my it seems to have the same pull of the 17t but lowers the 5th gear rpms a little.

You need to understand what changing gear ratios does.
+1 on the counter let you run at less rpm's at highway speed.
It makes 1st gear taller when taking off.
So maybe less acceleration due to higher gearing, but not really.
You just work your gearbox differently (maybe rev out each gear more to pull through and then have more relaxed rpm's once up to speed).
+1 lets 1st accelerate into traffic easier as you don't have to shift to 2nd so soon. Not necessarily quicker.
Going over mountain passes, 5th may not pull. But 4th will rev out to 95+ mph if you need.
If maxacceleration lol is your thing don't gear up.
If you ride 400 miles a day you might want to gear up, for less highway rpm's.
It will take slightly longer to rev through each gear as you have effectively raised the overall gear ratio. Thus your bike can feel weaker as you get caught at low rpm's in a particular gear.

From my experience a higher top speed can be achieved with the stock counter because you can pull 5th gear better.
Fuel mileage did not improve either as I had to open the throttle more to try to accelerate equally (to stock).
I have gone back to stock couintershaft sprocket for overall tighter gearbox and better overall performance (IMO!).

It all depends on how you ride.
