I appreciate that there are small percentage changes in speedo readings with a up/down gear change but at 20, 30/40 and upwards to 75 MPH both Radar and GPS confirm that my odometer is accurate. Certainly close enough for the local and State Troopers liking.

I also fitted the 19T sprocket not long after i bought the bike.
I wasn't too happy with the way it was revving at high speed, it felt like i was hammering the engine, i know it wasn't but it felt so.
I think it's all down to personal choice and the roads you ride, i find it cruises much happier on the motorways with the larger sprocket.

I have a 19t on my Scrambler. Most of my riding is commuting daily to school and it's perfect for morning and afternoon traffic. I never need to use 5th gear in normal city riding. I really haven't noticed any deficit in acceleration.

I just got my Bonny and I'm considering a 19t myself. After the first 100 miles I've noticed that the motor seems to not be revving as high as it did under the first 100 miles. I was riding 35 mph in 3rd but now I'm cruising at that speed in 2nd and it doesn't seem as revvy.

Very happy with my 19T on my 2010 Thrux. Much more pleasurable around town and on the freeway; the bike makes plenty of torque and I don't think it hurts performance for me in the mountains as I'm not an aggressive rider. It basically made the bike into what I expected the Triumph twin experience to be like.

Indicated speed in 5th gear.

3500 rpm = 62 mph
4000 rpm = 70 mph

3500 rpm is useful as it's where maximum torque kicks in. The engine's running sweetly, economically, and urges forward strongly for overtaking.

Having tried 17, 18 and 19 T sprockets I've found the 19 to be more relaxed and the most suitable for my style of riding,
At the end of the day it comes down to personal preference, weight carried and the terrain.

I have two identical 2006 Triumph Bonneville T100's; one with an 18 tooth sprocket and the other with a 19 tooth sprocket.
After riding both for a while I prefer the 19 tooth because of the more relaxed rpm's at Freeway speeds here in California.
The 18 tooth is nice if almost all of my riding is on surface streets because there is slightly less tendency to have to shift and the engine feels like it has slightly more torque.
Can't say I notice much difference in miles per gallon because the miles vary so much in where the bikes are ridden each time they go out for a spin.
If I had only one T100 I would definitely choose the 19 tooth gearing.
