I was wondering why Triumph uses cheap stick-on weights instead of the type that attach to the spokes? I noticed this on a couple pf Thruxtons I was looking at in the showroom!!! :???: Will these weights fall off over time?

Stick on weights have been around so long that they are not considered new. Pretty common on mag wheels. My car has had them for over 10 years with no problems.

You're trying to balance the tires imbalance. The closer you can get weights to the tire, the better your balance job is going to be. I would consider the spoke weights to be inferior to the stick on wheel weights because they are further from the tire if for no other reason. I replaced my spoke weights in the 70's with stick on weights because the spoke weights worked loose and caused me problems.

Some stick on weights look better than others--some look like lead and others have a chrome appearance.
