I read a lot of discussions of after market silencers for the Bonnie. " I love the braap-sound of D&Ds, Predators, TOR" a.s.o.
I replaced the stock pipes for the Triumph pea shooter silencers part.no A9608023. People, I can tell you, they sound super loud, '60, British en the more 'Braap'.
Does anybody uses these Hinckley 'Not for road use' pipes?

Tlaloc was asking the same thing...Lots of people use them ..we refer to them as T.O.R.s (Triumph off road) Enjoy!

I second that, thank you for the TOR explanation. I had a feeling it was an acronym.

That's what our local Triumph Dealer advises for a silencer upgrade.

Just washed the bike clean of 270 miles of mud and crud from the weekend. Nice and clean! Rolled it back into the garage just as it began to rain.

The Triumph TORs are louder than stock pipes, but tame compared to some of the aftermarket stuff out there. If you purchased your bike in Olympia you have one of the best wrenches around working on your Bonnie. He's our local Triumph guru.

The TOR's will give you a boost in power as long as you get the new jets installed. Warning: The screws on the bottom of the carb bowls are a real pain in the @$$ to get to. Very easy to strip. If you do the work yourself, get some allen wrench replacement bolts. Don't learn the hard way like I did :hammer:

I have just come in from changing my pipes on the Speedster to Chrome Silencers
Part No. A9608027 - Short Slash Cut. Does not conform to EPA noise standards. For closed circuit competition use only.
I only took it for a short run down the road and it sounds quite loud, It has the low down rumble that I was always used to from my Bonnie, a bit louder though. I also noticed it gives a bit of a popping sound and a bit of a backfire on throttle down under compression. Not sure if this is correct as I don’t have any thing to compare it with where I live.

 PS ..... Hope the cops don't get me

Yo SLowgo,
You wrote "a bit of a popping sound and a bit of a backfire on throttle down under compression "

I personally like that bit of backfire but I was told that you can eliminate it by installing an Air Injection elimination kit/
air injection removal kit

Shakey--That's good to hear that about the Cycle Mart mechanic. Would that be the tall, thin fellow, about 40? As opposed to the younger, not as tall guy?

I just hope CM stays in business.

I had a word with the dealer and they took it for a ride and for the most they say I should do nothing. I could if I really wanted to change the main jet one or two sizes up to increase fuel flow. For now I think I will just leave it as it is. It sure sound great more what I expected from a British bike.
