I just tryed my new jack from Sears and have a few questions are you removing the seat first to fasten the straps or just where are you running the straps over the bike

I think I have that same jack! I got mine from SEARS, too. It's wonderful. Sometimes I remove the seat when jacking it up and sometimes not. Depends on if I'm washing it or working on it.

Either way, I place the straps right behind the gas tank over the bike and wrap them around and around. I have a hard time getting a snug fit because it seems like the straps are just too long. Sometimes my strap setups can get "creative." :-D

I have the same jack.

I run the belt under the oil cooler send/return and though the triangle shaped motor mount. I run the rear belt through the triangle shaped rear footrest mount.

I run the straps on my jack over the front foot pegs and back down to the other side of the jack. Seems very stable, I gave it a shake the first time I tried it, dumb idea 'cos if it hadn't held the bike would have fallen on the concrete!

Binnsy,
Top idea, I'll give that a go. I have been taking off the seat and tying down over the frame.

Darcy,

I like it over the footpegs 'cos it gives you cleas=r access to the motor, no straps in the way.

You can get good tension on the straps if you jack it up 95% of the way, then tie it down, then jack up that last 5%. The straps pull real tight!
