Did you see the article in Toque about the R.A.T. membership being free to anybody that owns a Hinckley made Triumph starting December 1st. All your going to have to do is go to the Triumph web site and join/rejoin. Nice work Triumph! You can count on me to keep my membership.

STARTING dec 31st? I bought mine about 4 months ago and got the free sub. and membership. There must be something you missed in there that is showing something new to this already implimented freebee.

Well you used to start paying for it after the first year but now you don't. They have extended everybody's membership until the end of the year but you have to sign up annually now and get it free. You have to ask for the patches and pins.

I think you have missed something. RAT membership is free to anyone buying a NEW Triumph for the FIRST year only. After the first year is up (or if you bought the bike seconhand) you would have had to pay to keep your membership current. The (main) change is that from December 1st (not 31st) RAT membership is free to anyone owning a Hinckley built Triumph.

Are you automatically signed up when you buy a bike? If so, how long does it take to get something? It's been a month since I bought my bike and still nothing. :???:

This announcement went out in mid-September. There have been discussions of it in the Biker Hangout and the General RAT Discussion Forum at this site.
Yes, membership is still automatic for the first year. Depending how promptly your dealer registered your bike and where that event fit in the mailing cycle (they do it in batches), the membership materials and first issue of Torque can take anywhere from a couple of weeks to a couple of months to arrive.
Although renewal will be free from now on, you'll still have to do it annually. The online feature won't be available until December, so they say any memberships that were due to expire from July to December, 2005, are being automatically extended through the end of the calendar year.

I bought my 2nd hand America in July. The day I put down the deposit I went home, went on the website and joined RAT. However when all my membership stuff arrived, the stated that they hadn't taken any money from my account...
Though I did buy it from a Triumph dealer.
