My local dealer is telling customers that the 2007 line up will definitely include a 1500cc motor in the Speedy & America cruisers. A buddy of mine went in to the store on the weekend and the dealer said it's a given, couldn't get a date of course.
I will be in the line for one if it looks as good as my Speedy.........

He|| Yea ! If it looks nearly as good and isn't too monsterous in weight like the rocket and cost doesn't scare me off, i'm there. But how could he know? Triumph just released the 06's and no one including dealers had any idea untill just a few weeks before they were released !

I have heard rumors over the last year that triumph has been testing a 1500 cc twin. I dont know what other bikes it would be for exept the america and speedy.
If its true I want one for each leg. Rick...................

Sounds like the same rumor that was going around prior to the release of the 2006 model line last September. There were a bunch of threads about the 1200 or 1500 Cruiser or even 1200 Bonneville type standard.
Hmmm 2/3 of a Rocket III engine would be 1529 cc. Let the speculations begin.

Torque says that Triumph is committed to 2 or 3 new models a year.

These rumors and speculations have been going on for some time, and it's certainly a possibility for 2007, but for any dealer to say it's "definitely" going to be in the lineup is extremely premature. Remember the "Hayabusa Beater" (I think it was rumored to have the name Hurricane) that was shelved a couple years ago, just days away from sign-off for model year announcement? Some folks felt that was a pretty definite deal, too.
Triumph's Ross Clifford has been saying consistently for several months now that the company is concerned about demand for 1000cc and larger bikes dwindling as rising insurance costs and increasing regulatory restrictions (the latter, especially, in their biggest market, Europe) begin to make bigger bikes into luxury items rather than practical street vehicles.
Certainly that has not stopped them from producing such bikes, but they've got to be mighty sure of their market before they introduce a new one. They bet that the Rocket would appeal to American buyers in a big way, and so it did. But would a 1200 to 1500cc cruiser stand on its own in the US, and justify the cost of tooling? Or would it be perceived as just another Harley-like clone and be met with indifference?
They probably couldn't make up the difference in sales in the rest of the world if it didn't go over well enough here. So, I have to think they'll be second- and third-guessing themselves right up to the last minute.

If they can sell a 675cc 'yawn' tupperware torpedo, when there is already zillions of variations and clones upon a theme already produced by other makes, then they'll sell an upmarket upsized twin.
The 865cc motor was a knee jerk reaction by Triumph to the large criticism and loud voice of public opinion on the lack of power delivered by the twin range. It was in no way permanent, it was a stop gap. A lasting solution required time, re tooling and re engineering the twin package.
I wish I was as confident of winning the lottery as I am of Truimph releasing a +1000cc twin. It is inevitable that they will have to do it, otherwise the twin range will fade/be stillborn. Technological change is not a real twin direction, the only high profile improvement available is upsizing.

If Triumph wants to offer me a high tech, high compression parallel twin........
with triple disc brakes......
and superior suspension componants......
in a package that looks JUST LIKE my '05 Bonneville,
I'll step up to the plate and buy one!

No sign of fading after five years, and far from stillborn.
I was about to agree with you that upsizing was about the only option for improvement in the twin line, but actually I think we'll see what fuel injection can do to them in 2007.
