I am in the market for my first bike (06 Bonnie T100 black/red) and my dealer has indicated that Triumph uses a particular financing company. Do they offer decent rates? Has anyone secured a loan other than through the Triumph financing company with better results? Any recommendations?

Triumph offers decent rates based on your credit rating. I suggest you talk to your local dealer to check on financing. There is a way that you can avoid all interest and finance charges-pay cash. Joe :-D

Good advice. From years ago, my experience was that making a payment when a bike is new isn't too bad. 2nd, 3rd year and it was a drag.

I needed a loan for just a couple thousand but Triumph wouldn't do one for less than 5k. So i did a 5k loan and then paid it down quickly. This was in march and i still have about 1k left and it's mine. All mine! <evil laugh>

(too bad it's in pieces right now. )

I know Honda/Suzuki etc do a credit card through the company, thats how you can get a brand new Honda for $36 a month or whatever... I thought Triumph did the same thing, but when I bought mine I asked the dealer about Triumph financing, he had never heard of it.........

Triumph financing is through GE Money Bank (formerly GE Capital Consumer Card Co.). When I bought my bike the rates were 4.9% so I did the finance thing rather than take money out of savings. If the rates had been higher my decision may have been different. I have had no problems with the company and they have been responsive to my telephone calls. When I filled out the paperwork at the dealers, there was no form to fill out for "auto-payment". When I phoned the company a month later, they said they did have "auto-payment" and sent the forms for me to complete--now my payment is automatically paid each month from my checking account without me having to remember--memory is an age thing (inversely proportional). :-D

The lower loan rates were on the RIII, of course, and I would suspect they are still lower.

I put my bike on my Visa card that I carry for daily items or whim purchases, then transfered that balance to one of my other cards with a fixed 2.9% rate.I have the title,no insurance hassles and pay as much or as little as I want each month. My road to wealth needs re-paving,BAD ! :-D

Yeah, I bought mine on a new USAA credit card, 2.9% on all purchases before a certain date..Couldn't even come close to a better deal intrest wise. Plus, like Rodburner said, I have the title right now. I just treat it like a regular loan, no new charges!

Road to wealth? I have a narrow pathway hacked out of the jungle, and I think I'm going the wrong way!!! :-D  :-D

Triumph rates are pretty fair about half what my credit union charges for a motorcycle.
