A buddy of mine (who lives in NYC.) bought a 05 tang and creme T100 from a guy who lives fifty miles north of Atlanta. So my buddy wants to ship the bike back to New York. He doesn't have the time to ride it back so..........

Do you all have any recommendations for a good reliable motorcycle shipper????????

He'll probably end up flying down to atlanta to bring the bike to whoever he finds to ship it back..........

Any idea's would be appreciated!!! JD.

I just had a bike shipped about 400 miles through uship.com. It's similar to ebay where you give details of the bike and from where to where and it's put out for bid.Don Hill,my driver was excellent.I paid about 200$ less than I would have to the professional companies. Make sure your driver had really good feedback-available on site.
Anand.

Here are a few:

http://www.haulbikes.com/haulbikes.html

http://www.forwardair.com/

http://www.motorcycleshipping.biz/

http://www.funtransport.com/

Make sure that the bike is strapped to a pallet and covered (shrink-wrap or that roller-film that movers use) and online tracking is available. If clip-ons, you may have to provide your own bar harness; they're expecting handlebars. Watch for surcharge for home pickup or delivery; they prefer commercial sites for easy access by tractor trailers.

Good luck!

I went with JC Motors to ship my Bonnie a year ago.

www.motorcycleshippers.com

The bike came in flawless condition, and they provide everything for one price, pallet, straps, cover, pick-up etc...

No extra charge for a residential delivery provided the street could handle an 80 foot trailer, which mine could. Otherwise, they require a business drop off.

The only thing negative I could say is that the pick up took a few days longer than I expected. The shipment itself was quicker than they said, but all in all, the bike made it from Mass. to Virginia in 7 days from when I ordered the shipment.

Also, as a value add, JC gives you the straps and pallet to keep. Not sure what I'm going to do with an 8' pallet, but the straps are great for transport on my trailer.

JD,

I had the T100 I bought for my wife shipped from CA to Jacksonville by ForwardAir. No problems and no hassle; they supplied the crate. With the increase in fuel costs, I am sure the cost of shipping has gone up.

The disadvantage of using ForwardAir is that the sender must take it to the terminal and secure it in the crate and the person receiving it must go to the terminal to pick it up. Companies the truck the bikes will pick them up at your door.

It took four days counting the day the seller delivered the bike until I picked it up in Jax. It overnighted in Dallas and Atlanta in route.

JC Motors did a pretty good job for me hauling my bike from Massachusetts to Texas. I think they knocked off a few bucks when they missed our initial appointment due to an equipment failure. They got her securely on the pallet, nicely strapped and well-covered. I think it was $650 or so, and the delivery was right on time. No worries.
