Beston/ Gran Turismo Grips
Right, I can't find these ANYWHERE for 1" bars. Do any of my friends across the pond know of any in any of the American stores? I've seen loads of you have them on your bikes, but for the life of me I can't figure out where to get them from!

I got mine from a vendor on ebay called Classic Cycle Parts. I'm not sure if they were limited old stock but worth a search.

Perhaps contact these guys: http://www.burtonbikebits.net/handlebargrips.htm
I did a year or so ago, and they said they were looking for a good source for "rubbery" Bestons for one inch bars. Maybe they have found some.
I got two pair from Lowbrow Customs - while they had them. Man, they are great. You might want to contact them as well to see if they might be able to get more.

I've sent an email off to Lowbrow. Spoke to the lady at Burton, but they don't know where to get them...
I'm going to a bike jumble at Beaulieu motor museum on sunday, hopefully find an old pair there!

I bought mine on ebay a couple of years ago. Love them.

Here is the package, which was apparently NOS:
and mounted:

When LowBrow had them, the product description said they were in limited supply. Maybe the distributors name may help.
Oh, another thought. It had been suggested by several that if you buy two pair [one 7/8, the other larger to fit over the throttle tube] that you could use the larger two and cram 'em on. Might work.

That might work if they are rubbery enough...maybe put one in the oven for five minutes to soften them right up... If I get no luck over the weekend I might give it a shot! Luckily the 7/8's are cheap enough!

I bought a Beston 1" pair off ebay two weeks ago, same NOS packaging shown by DavidC.
Rubbery and flexible and feel great on the bike.
They had a sharp chemincal stink when fresh out of the package, but that's gone now they're on the bike.
Mine look a little more curvey/fatter than the ones in DavidC's photo. Maybe it's just how they photograph. Either way, my hands are more comfortable with the extra width and the curve. I re-adjusted the levers one notch closer after installing the grips. Partly because the fat football shape moves my palm a little further from the lever. But partly because since my hand is less cramped around the stock skinny grip, my fingers aren't cramped either and can now easily move up to the levers. I used the furthest away lever position before with the stock grips mainly because my fingers needed the room between grip and lever. (Fairly long fingers here, but slender.) The skinny grip shape is pretty standard throughout the motorcycle market, so it must work ok for hands of various sizes, but I will much prefer the Beston shape.

Thanks for the review, they seem to be universally loved! Shame I still can't find any! Do you know if the guy you got tours off had any more?

I have now officially phoned EVERY classic bike shop in the UK, and emailed every motorcycle accessory shop in the known universe, and not one of them can help me out! Grr. I may try stretching a pair of 7/8ths to fit my bars...
