I just replaced the factory "Huffy bicycle bars" on my Bonnie' with some M-bars. Because I bought them from a private party, I ended up with chrome. But I took a bunch of stuff down to have powder-coated Black, including the bars, Gen Mar risers, and the factory risers that attach to our triple tree.

Sure looks good with everything coated black! I avoided from powder-coating the top-clamp with the "Triumph" on it. I had the allen heads coated Black and they provide a nice contrast. It'll look better when I fill in the lettering of "Triumph".....

Anyway.....
I've hand tightened everything rather arbitrarily, but I'd like to know how much I should tighten those lock-nuts under the triple tree that hold the risers in place. Any other torque specs would be an added bonus..... and greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Handlebar mounting clamp to top yoke nut 35nm Bonneville / 45nm Speedmaster. Is that what you need FattRatt? :chug:

Also, torque the handlebar clamp bolts to 26 Nm ("Tighten front bolts first then rear bolts").

Pat,
Tighten it up until it strips then back it off 1/2 a turn.

Fattrat / others who might not know...check on the left under "downloads", then click "technical aids & info" and select "Bonneville". All the various Torque specs of our bikes should be listed there. Somewhere in here is also a cross-reference for foot/lbs and nm's.

Yo "Shorty" (how come I think you're actually 6' 3"?)......

THANKS!

There are other spec's that I'd like to gain access to, I hope I remember where to go (for spec's that is....).

Fattrat...you're welcome...try 5'6". There's all kinds of hidden information available, but the downloads sofar have been very helpful to me since I don't have a manual yet.
