Hi,

I am planning to replace the standard horn on my Bonnie T100 which I find is not loud enough to make myself heard with a louder one. I checked out NewBonneville.com.

Any recommendations as to which one to get? Since I am not very mechanically talented it should be easy to replace.

Thanks for advice and suggestions!!

Chris

It is easy to install but be careful about how it is placed. The NB horn has a plastic bell shape on the end which if placed directly down, will hit the fender when the forks compress on large bumps. I ended up facing the horn to the side and eventually will probably trim the plastic bell on the end. Also, the horn will fill with water if you do not cover it when washing so put a bag over it. I think it is louder but I don't count on anybody hearing it. Gives me a little piece of mind if nothing else.

I just fitted a Fiamm HK9 RoadThunder Horn (used be called the K100) - from here RIDERSAFE

It is 134db, black front - cast back. Straight bolt on to a Speedy, One bolt, two connectors - five minutes work - and VERY loud. It's bigger than the standard (about 4" dia). But a great horn if it fits the T100.

I recently fitted the NB 125 dB horn under my T100 gas tank. I believe I used the space that was formerly occupied by AI hardware (I had the dealer remove the AI hardware before I picked up the motorcycle so I'm not exactly sure what it looked like). I used the aft most nut-plate under the tank and cut down the bracket that comes with the aftermarket horn. I also shaved off a little of the horn at the outlet (this was not absolutely necessary) to help with the fit. Once I figured out it would fit, the job was very easy. I didn't even have to disconnect the tank gas lines, etc. I just loosened the two tank mounting bolts under the seat, slid it back, lifted it up about 6 - 8" and slipped a big roll of masking tape between the tank and upper frame. That gave me enough room to work under the tank. The horn is LOUD and has a cool European sound (I even ordered another one for my pickup since its horn is dead). One has to really be looking for it to notice it. The bottom is about a half inch below the tank but buried up under there such that it is not noticeable. - dh

I installed the Fiamm K-100 RoadThunder horn from Ridesafer.com on my '03 T-100 about a year ago. I don't recall any mounting problems. Been through lots of rain and no problems.
