Hi Guys
Just bought myself an 04 Bonneville T100 in black/white.

Bit of a different ride from my previous Suzuki Bandit 600, but this bike is so much fun. Went for a test ride and was totally hooked - it's just everything biking should be!

I've had one problem in the first week of owning it - the dreaded intermittent fault - sometimes I push the starter button and there's a faint click, headlight dims and nothing happens - turn the ignition off and back on and it fires up fine.

Anyone else had a similar problem??

Problems been getting worse - just been back to dealer who replaced starter relay under warranty. Great service.

Hi Steve. Hopefully it was the relay giving you grief and you're sorted now. If not, however, I'd suggest tracking down the earth connections to the frame and cleaning and greasing them with vaseline.. Worked wonders for my Trophy when it behaved as you've described.

Hopefully that was the issue. I had a very similar issue with my Thruxton when it was brand new. Turned out the battery was cracked and had to be replaced. The failure was also intermittent which made it a real pain to figure out.

I had a similar problem last year, completely resolved by a new relay, $12 US fix.
