I just watched an A&E special titled the "Ten Greatest Motorcycles".
The Bonneville ranked 6th. of all time.
No, I do not have the entire list as I was busy working at the same time but the Honda CB750/Ducati 916/Honda Cub/Brough 100 were a few others along with some real custom designs.
Anyway, we all knew the Bonneville was on the list!!!
Jay Leno was part of the show and years ago I owned a 1970 Bonneville "trailer queen show bike" that use to compete against his.
Why I ever sold that wonderful bike who knows but every time I fire up my 2005 T100 just a little of that old bike is still there.

I hate Jay Leno solely because he has a McLaren F1 and I do not.

This question pops up all over the place.
There are no "right" or "wrong" answers.
The Meriden (60s) Bonnevilles ALWAYS make the top 10, I don't think Ive ever seen a comparison where they are out of the top 3.

The Stones are widely held as the greatest rock n' roll band of all time because they're still here. Going by that criteria the Bonnie shoulda been #1. And it's the king of what I at least consider THE consummate motorcycle engine, the vertical twin.

I've never seen a list of the greatest rock n' roll bands where the Beatles were not number one.

I think Led Zeppelin should be right up there, along with the Grateful Dead. Oh, and what about The Who?
Oh wait a minute...what is this topic about anyhow???

I hope longevity is not the only reason for #1. Impact to the world is a key factor. Just look at the Stones for example, there last good stuff was in the early mid-70s, plus albums by quantities sold are at the noise level. But impact to the world?...yes impact to the world. Just like the T-bikes.

What about Boy George and the culture club. I am not positive but I think he was seen on a Paul Smith limited edition in San Francisco.
