Anybody got a solution/mitigation for barend mirror vibration?

I installed Napoleon bar ends on my "m" bars and the left one is pretty much unusable in terms of distinguishing objects behind me. I like the look, but there is very little function.

I've considered a bar snake. Any thoughts?

Geno-o - are you using the m-bars with the threaded end-cap adapters (like the stock bars) or the open ended bars? I put Napoleons on a couple weeks ago and have had the same experience as you. The visibility is great until you get just a little speed going. The vibration gets to be a problem pretty quick - much worse than with the stock mirrors. I'm using m-bars with the threaded end caps. I used a bolt to attach to the threaded end caps. I'm also using a cut down section of the "rubber" plug that comes with the Napoleons as a spacer. I had to shim with washers on the throttle side also to keep the throttle from sticking. Anyway - I had assumed that this arrangement was probably making the vibration worse than if the Napoleons were used with hollow bars with only the expandable Napoleon plug holding them in place. By the way, I had previously installed liquid barsnake. I'm not sure what I'm going to do. Like you, I really like the look but they are a problem in some situations. I can still see vehicles behind me but not a clearly as I would like particularly in heavy traffic. And it really sucks when you can't tell if that white sedan behind you is just your average soccer mom or a state trooper. :???:

Why? Can't tell if it's a cop chasing you?

I've got the emgo bar-end mirrors & M bars. They vibrate too. Still, to me they are superior to stock because I can see if someone is in the lane directly behind me.

After hearing resent stories about getting tail-gated and hit from behind, I want to be able to "manage" how close I let someone get.

Cedar Creek,
I've got the hollow "m" bars (which I love) and use just the hardware that came with the Napoleon mirrors. I've tried tightening them up and that doesn't seem to make a difference. One thing I noted is that the left one is much worse than the right. I think that is because I had to reverse that one by taking it apart and reversing it to make it left handed.

You mentioned bar snake, did that help at all with the vibes?

I used the liquid barsnake since I have the plugged bar ends similar to the stock bars. I was still using the stock mirrors when I put the barsnake in so I don't know how much vibration I would have had without it with the Napoleons. It did improve the vibration with the stock mirrors but it didn't eliminate it. By the way, my right mirror is noticeably worse than the left. I have a couple of ideas I'm going to play around with this weekend. I'll let you know if I figure out anything to improve the situation.

I only need to see shapes and police lights. I don't want to read their plates. My bar ends vibrate under load, too. But I was riding without any mirrors. I'll just keep looking over my shoulder as its an old habit and keeps me from getting hit.
