City riding sure is something else.

This past Sunday, I went out only for 45 minutes and counted at least 5 close calls. From cars tailgating my bumper to cars blowing thru stop signs (2 right smack in front of me).

Just another reminder for me to always be prepared!

Ride on...

There are many idiots on the roads. Fit loud pipes and an uprated horn so they can hear you, 'cos they don't seem to be able to see us too well!

Stay safe!

Try Central London for real fun

I always try to get myself in a "Jungle patrol" state of mind , and just assume that everything is out to kill me. The trick is , to maintain the intense personal focus for 90 minutes or so , without being distracted by the ever growing overheat situation down in the engine room.

They are all out to get you. Sometimes paranoia is just clear thinking. There are a lot of nice county roads for that Sunday morning ride with no one else around, though. The Twin Cities roads can't handle all the traffic. You can't always avoid busy roads, I know. Ride safe.

In my opinion, rural riding is at least ten times safer and much more fun. The only disadvantages are 1) not many ladies out and about, and 2) long walks to service stations if one is needed for whatever reason. However, in my area every rural service station you see will have anywhere from 3 to 6 bikes parked outside on weekends.

I rode my bike to work on most days. It's a short trip full of peril.
I'm with GaryD; it's much better to ride in the country.

Can't blame another vehicle for your rubbernecking! Ah, the pleasures of summer riding. I can't total the amount of times a tasty view has created a close call. You'd think after the first 50, I'd quit looking. Two lane country roads can have their own set of difficulties, but most of those are self induced. :hammer:

Always assume that no one can see you and everyone is trying to kill you. Then you'll be fine.

This note clearly makes no sense. I truly hope this is tongue in cheek.

Thanks to others for their support. Sometimes it is just good to have a place to vent or hear others' experiences.

Ride on...
