Hi, I am posting this question for a friend. We have a '70 TR6R with a 4 speed tranny. We are trying to replace the 4 speed with a complete tranny from a Bonneville. The questions are: What mods need to be done? What parts are needed? Any mods necessary to shifting mechanism? Are the inboard transmission cover/case different? The 5 speed transmission was installed on the bench and it does not shift.
I appreciate any insight or experience in making this conversion that you guys can give us.

If you haven't, try posting your questions on the pre-Hinkley classic/vintage/vetern forum--whatever its called--it's the one below this one. On this forum we're usually wrapped up pretty much with the new Bonnevilles.
