I have an '04 Bonnie T100 and just put on a pair of Ikon adjustable shocks and what a difference they make. It is like a different bike. VERY stable and confidence inspiring. It corners like a dream! You can feel the bike HOLDING the line and over road bumps they are flawless. Try 'em out, they are worth the money. Get the fully adjsutable type from New Bonneville or Bella Corse. Then you find out why these bikes are so much fun! :hammer:

Brooksie,
The difference is amazing isn't it? The good people at Triumph decided to spend even less on the front suspension.
You should get some front springs as well and make the front as good as the back.

I'm seriously considering the Ikons advertised for the America/Speedmaster....., the "1 inch lower" Ikon. I am told that they will fit just as easily on my '05 BonnieBlack. I'm also told that they are more like 3/4" lower rather than the suggested full inch.....

Thus my question(s):
I'm short (5' 2" w/24" inseam), but I'm a very heavy short, 240 lb.s.....

* Will the Ikons be up to the task for a guy who still thinks he can ride in a "spirited" fashion? (Am I too heavy for the Ikon?)

* What is the BEST approach to addressing the front end of the bike with it's now lowered rear? (I plan on replacing the springs up front, but what is the most effective way do this while maintaining the integrity of the bike's geometry?)

* What is the height/length of the factory shocks for the Black, the T-100, and/or the Thruxton? (330,340,350,365,345mm?)

Brooksie, it's funny you should post this today because last night on a ride, I was just thinking, things get a little hairy in the tight turns at speed. I love the bike stock, and money is an object but I think that is definitely something worth saving for.

Well Brooksie, you're one heck of a writer. You paint an awful pretty picture lad. So much so that i do believe you've convinced me ! I bought springs today, but held off on shocks till i found exactly what i wanted. But from your description the Icons sound hard to pass up. Unless i happen upon something thats equal to them from all i can gather reading about shocks, and look better, the Icons will probably be the ones. I say "look better" because while they look fine, i was hoping to find a great performer that also looked as high quality as the Ohlin 36e. i just figure if you're gonna pay that much for shocks why not find one that not only performs great but also enhances the looks of your bike greatly. But so far there doesn't seem to be anything like that other than the Ohlin which unfortunatly doesn't have one for the cruisers. But if the handling is as enhanced as you say i'll be happy enough with that. The other day i nearly slipped a disc on a pothole thanks to the stock junk. May as well be riding a hardtail.

It is worth saving for. My wife's 03 Bonnie has Icons and progressive springs. Hers handles and rides much better than my 03 with stock suspension. I am definitely upgrading mine.

Folks-sorry I cound not respond on the shocks. Had to take my wife down toIndy to ship out with Indiana National Guard. She's going to Gulfport as a nurse volunteer to help with Katerina victims. Anyway--I have the Ikon progressive front springs to get installed, as soon as my Triumph dealer can find the time. I notice the p-poor front hammering even more with the rear shocks sorted. Will report back in when they are installed.

Brooksie, please convey to your wife my thanks and appreciation for her service. I know those folks on the Gulf Coast appreciate any and assistance they can get.
