Let us know what you think after having it in a while. I really like the appearance.

I lightly sanded mine out in the beginning and reapplied a nice clear coat. 10K miles with no problems and practically free. I there's a free option I'll try that first, but your link there does seem interesting.....ahh, the things they come up with!

Thunder, did you apply any primer before you applied the clear coat? I am thinking about doing something similar, if not the same. Where did you get your clear coat, how did you apply it, and how much did it cost.

Cheers

A few Yamaha V-Star riders are using this same gas cap system for their bikes as well. From what I have heard, they are easy to adapt to just about any bike. They look really cool as well....

I told my dealer about it so they let me bring the bike down there to use their supplies because they felt bad about my frustration. No primer and I hate to say it, but I can't remember the clear coat brand, but I know it was an anti rust brand. I made sure of that, besides, I trust there advice. I was a spray on type. Sorry, not a bunch of help, but call your dealer and ask what brand of clear coat they carry on hand.
It's real easy, you just make sure to cover the smaller filling hole that goes right in the tank to avoid particles and spray from getting in there.
