Holidays are over.I went to my homeplace in Crete to see my family and made an one week tour to southeastern Crete with my girlfriend. Lots of twisty roads, rocky mountains and gorges, amazing beaches and sunsets. My bonnie enjoyed it also, as you will see in the photos. summer 2005 Island of Crete

I had a friend to used to go to Crete, and I've always wanted to go there.
Now I must, If only I could get my bike to fly (that far, at least).

Great pics,

Beautiful.

I now have to find a way to go there.

What is the climate there?
Are there strong seasonal changes or is it more of a steady moderate climate?

stdbkrhwk, Crete is the biggest island of Greece located in the southeastern part of the mediterranean sea. Its a very touristic place in the summer, most tourists are european, english and german. There are though many places more quiet and wild (mostly in the south part). There are also many archeologic places to visit (minoan civilization, the earliest in europe, flurished there long before the ancient greek civilization). The climate is mild and warm. 8-9 months of sunshine, not any snow during the winter except for some mountain villages, some very hot days in the summer (above 30 celsium degrees). The food is also great, the people are kind and hospitable.
