off for the last two weeks - put plenty of kms on the bike. noticed a few things
trying to pass without dropping a gear is not effective. bike seems to take to long to pickup speed.
riding at plus 140 km/p the rear ends seems to make a lot of noise like the chain is bouncing about but it is not
in gravel my bonnie handle much better than my friends sportbike. and speaking of, after 3 hours of riding my buddie's wrists were sore as hell and i was good.
finally adjusting the rear shocks is super easy and really helps with different riding styles or with 2 up riding.r

Good observations, convict. Downshifting is normally recommended for passing on most standards. Bonnevilles have long been noted for relatively good handling on rough surfaces. And they're a lot easier to take on long rides than most sportbikes.

I wonder about the chain noise, though. Haven't encountered that same thing with mine yet. Is it possible that yours has enough mileage for a combination of chain and sprocket wear to produce that effect?

the noise in the back was most likely mechanical - just never really heard it before. checked wear - all is good
