Hey there.

The stock seat on my 03 Bonnie has developed a bad case of lumps, it looks like there are springs trying to poke out of it. (Yes, I know there are not springs in it!). Luckily the bike is still under warranty, so it will get replaced.

Heres the kicker....I was wanting to upgrade to the King and Queen seat, so I asked if Triumph would credit the cost of a new stock seat, which they will be paying anyway, and ship out a K&Q if I pay the difference.......The service guy called Triumph thinking it should be no problem, the other manufacturers do that kind of thing all the time. Triumph said no! No explanation, just that they "don't do it that way".

Triumph makes a great bike, but they are shooting themselves in the foot with their customer relations/organazational culture stuff. Its almost like they are a government office!!!

On a related note, I have a brand new stock seat coming, should be here in 2 weeks or so. If anyone has a K&Q seat they don't want and would like to do a trade for the stock one and some cash, let me know.

See youse guys later.

That's due to the fact that the dealer isn't capitalized well enough to carry any inventory and not smart enough to realize he scould probably charge you an extra $50 on the swap and more than make up for his cost to carry the seat in inventory. I'll bet he sells several replacement seats a year.

If Rodburner hasn't found a stock seat yet, sell your new one to him and order you a king/queen. :-D
Steve probably got one last week though, so the wife would ride with him. :-D
Ask your dealer if you can have the old seat if Triumph doesn't call for it. The dealer is supposed to keep the warranty take off items for a couple of months or so (can't remember the exact time frame). After that they just toss the stuff. If you can get the old seat, send it to buttbuffer.com and get the foam redone with gel and have a GOOD seat. :-D
Deal Steve out of one of his solo seats. :-D
Oops, reread your post--you didn't ASK for advice did you--well no charge this time :-D :-D

Larry...

I actally thought about trying to get the old seat from the dealer, theres a place here called Richs Custom Seats that is supposed to do really good work...

Roddy makes some sweet seats, but I also need a spot for the old lady......

As for the advice, I wouldn't dream of taking advantage of you by taking it for free.......I am giving you a "store credit" with me of 5 cents.
:-D  :-D
