Hi Guys. Any of you fitted a Blinker Buddy? I mean the simple one. If so how many wires and where do they all go?
Any other suggestions for wiring in a buzzer alert to the indicator circuit without diodes and half of the gear from NASA? I'm sure there is a simple way.
Cheers.

No, but have you seen the one at newbonneville.com? If not, i think it's the best solution, tho too expensive. I've been meaning to see if i can build one myself. There are tons of schematic sites online and i goitta think someone has something similar posted. what it does if you haven't seen it, is instead of buzzing it automatically turns them off at a given time that you preset. It doesn't allow you to set the exact time you wish, (tho it should at that price) but it does allow 3 settings, the longest i believe being 16 seconds. The think i like about it is you can turn on your signal then just forget about. There is one disadvantage of course which i think is obvious, but i'd much prefer it to a buzzer type.

I rode behind a friend who had rigged up a beeper to his turn signals. I rode behind him for 10 miles while his blinker flashed annoyingly.
I've gotten into the habit of hitting the little "off" button from time to time just to make sure. I once almost hit an old lady who turned left in front of me. I was spittin' nails until I noticed I had my right signal on. Oops.
Later-model Harleys have a great system. My recollection is that it turns off after either a certain period of time or after the bike has leaned so far off vertical. It really worked well, and I can't understand why other manufacturers don't install the same system on their bikes.

I think the harley uses a mercury switch. Not sure but i think thats it. According to someone who has one it does depend on the bike leaning, so that would make it useful for turns but not for lane changes. Could be wrong, but thats what i understood. thats why i still like that timer. But with all the other things i need to fork over big $ for i'm finding it hard to put out a c note for one of those. But if i can't build something i'll probably give in eventually. Hopefully one way or another it'll happen before someone turns left in front of me because of my inability to consistantly remember to hit the button.

Robert,
I have been using the "signalMinder Turn Signal Self Canceler" that Newbonneville.com sells. I have had it for about a year and it works fine for me. There is one "quirk" with this type of unit though--you have to manually push the Triumph turn signal cancel button prior to signalling another turn. The signalMinder can electronically cancel the turn signal; however, it cannot change the mechanics of Triumphs manual signal/cancel system. It has been much easier for me to remember to cancel and then signal than the other way around, and it is MUCH safer because it reminds you instantly by the signal light not turning on. If you get in the habit of always signalling early, you have plenty of time to cancel and signal if you forget to cancel first.
The signalMinder simply plugs-in in place of the "blinker" unit behind your left side cover. It is pricey; however, I thought it was cheap after a couple of cars pulled in front of me and I saw my signal was still on. I believe the top setting is twenty flashes or twenty seconds--that's the setting I'm using because of the loong stop lights out here in rural America. :-D

Harley signals turn off after a certain number of revolutions of the front wheel (at least that's how mine work).

The signal minder, self canceler works perfectly for me. Exactly matches the Bonnie unit. The 20 sec setting works best for my area/style. The device has the added benefit of making me more likely to manually cancel, not sure why. Brent at New Bonneville or Mike at Bellacorse carry these. I got mine from: http://www.bellacorse.com/bcc035.htm Bill H
