On my Bonnie I would have thought that the seat could be raised, or removed somehow, but I am not finding a latch anywhere. I have not had a chance to look at the owners manuals yet, but am I missing something?

Where is the best place to order a shop manual for my 2004 Bonnie?

Doc,
Remove the black engine cover on the right side of the bike using your favorite quarter. Hanging right inside that cover is a single Allen Head wrench.

Use that wrench to remove the two seat bolts beneath the seat above the rear fender.

Or, you can just wait until both of the bolts vibrate out, and the seat comes off pronto. :lollol:

Hmmmm, thinking there is no useful storage or anything under there huh....hmmmmmm

Wait till the bolts vib out huh? I think me and a tube of loctite have a date with this bike soon.

Love the machine, hate the mirrors, have got to get some small things squared away on it to be totally happy with it......that seat is aggravating.....

Looking for some good quality bar end mirrors, and will be looking at rearsets soon. Most of the stuff I don't like about the bike are very very minor.

Whats up, Doc? I bought the seat extension bolts from New Bonneville. Takes a 5mm allen head. Best money I,ve spent on the bike! Seat latch, underseat storage, tool kit would have all be nice but that is why I bought the Corbin Smuggler seat for sport riding. See ya later!

I am talking with the previous owner of the bike about a Corbin gunfighter and lady he bought for it, and never put on it.

I am thinking about a single cafe seat so I have something to go back and forth to as I don't have the gf on the back.....

Doc, you've got that right. Get the seat extensions. It all depends on how much you want to spend. I had a gun fighter seat made, but I did not like the way it looked. I sold it and bought a Smuggler last spring. While the price was a little salty, the seat looks great. It was made for my inseam length so can ride barefoot if I want to. It takes a little while to get the seat, up to 8-10 weeks at worst. Finish was flawless but the rear bracket was not even close to fitting. I relocated the bracket with some sheet metal screws and it works great. Can fit your owners manual, Cruz tool kit (great road side kit!) and a cell phone in it no problem.

A roll up tool bag works for me. I have had them for years, and find them cheap insurance for having hanging on the forks.

Will look at the bolt extensions for sure. I don't plan on lots of seat changes, but to be able to do it quickly would be worth the cost of the kit.

I have a hard time believing what the rear set kits are selling for though. I just have a hard time believing that 30 bucks worth of aluminum run through a CNC mill is worth 300 after...... We aren't talking about a huge amount of engineering here.....

I may have to design my own

Doc, I am told that the Thruxton pegs will fit and move them back. Also, Bella Corse has the Norman Hyde type, which look a little more OEM. Let us know what you come up with!!
