To anyone who mounted the NC Streetshield EX: Could you please tell me how you mounted the lower supports? I mounted mine tonight on my 09 Bonneville SE and am seriously unhappy with the bottom mounts. No matter what I do, I cant seem to get them seated in the shield tightly.

I had to fiddle with the install on my T100 a bit but I finally got it to work. Loosen up the upper mounts and make sure they are as close the the bend in the bars as possible. I found that the screen needed to be a bit more upright than parallel with the forks also need to cut off the ends of the lower mounting arms with a bolt cutter to eliminate poking the side of the tank, and then just covered the rough end with a rubber cap.

Just finished a 2500 mile trip with the EX and truly appreciated the extra protection.

So you mounted the lower supports up higher than I did. Drat. I wish I had taken a picture. The instructions did say they might need to be cut but I was hoping to avoid that. <sigh>

I've just fitted a Dart to my 2001 Bonnie. Took a while to make up my mind as I wanted to keep the bike stock. That said it does make a huge difference at 50+. I'm 6' and the airflow seems to hit me at shoulder height. It's easy enough to lower myself down a bit for long runs...

Why do I ride a Street Triple R? For those who understand, no explanation is necessary; for those who don't understand, no explanation is possible...

I have a Dart flyscreen. I like it, and it doesn't spoil the looks of the bike.

Is this kit only the 1" adaptor clamps? I happen to have an extra set from years ago on my 95 T Bird.

The Givi looks nice but I could never find a way to stop the mad buffeting it caused. I broke mine into pieces and threw it away.

How are you mounting the EX supports so they can hit the tank on an EFI bike???? I just took a second look at mine (mounted a couple of weeks ago on an SE) and there is no way the ends of the supports come anywhere near the tank.

I had to heat the recepters with a hair dryer, then they popped in with great force. I put the windshield on a soft towel on the carpet, heated the recepters for a few minutes with a small hair dryer, then worked them in, starting from the bottom. Once they popped in, they were in to stay!

To mount to my SE, I fastened the radiator clamps as high as they would go on the fork legs, just below the "ears" of the headlight mounts. The windshield supports fit behind the turn signals and ahead of the ignition. Windshield is nicely parallel to the forks.

I love the looks of my factory flyscreen, but let's face it, any wind protection is pretty minimal.


I just ordered this "Stealth Shield" from Maier; I don't really like the looks that much, but am hoping the clear acrylic makes it fairly unobtrusive. Looks like much better wind protection than what I've got for longer rides, and should be easy enough to R&R when needed/not needed.
