OK, i have read some posts about the Ikon shock upgrades, and for any of you here that have upgraded to these, how much of a difference is it by upgrading to the Ikon shocks? Please explain the difference in ride, bounce, smoothness, etc...
I pretty much have my Speedmaster dialed in with short sissy bar and rack, Solo seat and passenger pillion, Specialty Spares long slash exhaust, and have decided not to get saddle bags. I instead bought a bag that ties down on my rack behind the sissy bar. So the next obvious modification would be shocks. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Andy

Have't done it myself but it's on the agenda. Look at the Hagon shocks. they're a lot less than the icons and people here seem to say they're just as good. Depending on the cosmetics, (black, chrome, black&chrome, shround/no shroud) they're as low as i think $175. The most expensive being about $250. Icons are what, $400+?

i just put the the hagon rear shocks on last weekend. the difference is amazing. we put the hagon fork springs in on wednesday night. it's like riding a completely different bike. it's great. i've heard the ikons are better shocks but i don't know that from personal experience. i hit a pretty large pot hole on a road that had been graded for paving and i didn't get the usual bone jarring of my spine trying go up through the top of my skull. i wasn't expecting much of a difference but you will feel it if/when you upgrade. and mike from bellacorse was quick to get back to me and helped out a lot with a couple of stupid questions that i had about the install.

I am not sure...but I am willing to pay more for the Icons if they are a better shock. The stock seem very rough...i am a small guy, I only weigh 145lbs. I have the stock ones set at the highest setting, it helped but still bounces me around too much. Its not the smooth ride I was expecting when switching from the Sprint RS to the Speedmaster. Man, I loved that RS, but $1200 per year for insurance compared to $400 per year, that makes it all worth it...and then, you cant go wrong with the styling of the speedy...

These look awesome, tho i don't know whether they fit the speedy or how much they are. But i think they are thier best shock, and man they look quality.

I am going with the Ikon front progressive springs and the Ikon adjustable on the rear. It's my experience that you will get a much better feel of the road, especially with the front spring change. The rears are great because you can dial them in to your need. Check out www.newspeedmaster.com/html/ikon_shocks.html for the rear. Nice chrome on chrome for 390.00. It is worth it!

ive got ikons on my thruxton , they are stax better than the stock ones.
the ikons have 3 pos preload and 4 pos rebound whereas i think the cheaper hagon only have preload???
next step for me will be better fork springs - possinbly the ikon progressives
