I have been debating what kind of a windshield to put on my '03 bonnie. Last week I stopped at the dealer and they had a Roadster Screen in stock. Since I can resist any thing but temptation I ended up buying it and having it installed.
I was very pleased till I got on the 4 lane and took got up to 65 to 70 mph. The turbulence , buffeting , was so bad it blurred my vision and almost sucked the sunglasses off my head.
I had read other posts about the buffeting but temptation got the best of me.. I had also read a lot of positive comments about the screen as well.

Now is there a fix for this problem ?

I tired putting edging made of clear tubing tried 1/4 in and it seemed to help a little. moved up to 3/8 that won't stay on long enough to tell I am going to put on some 5/16 and see if that helps. But my gut feeling is that it wont' work either.
Has any one tried the Laminar Lip?

Any help will be appreciated

You don't mention how tall you are, probably a critical component to windscreen effectiveness. I'm 5'11" and have none of those problems with my roadster screen.

Some folks have bought the National Cycle screen that looks identical but is taller (probably a lot cheaper as well).

You can also get plastic shield replacements from Clearview in custom sizes, but I'm sure you don't want to replace your new shield quite so soon.

Pull your sunglasses off? You must not be wearing a helmet.
I have a roadster screen and it doesn't cause the wind to try to pull my sunglasses off at any speed up to the 110 mph max, but then I always wear a helmet, but even with a half helmet, I have no problem.

I haven't had any problems you mentioned with the Roadster. While there is some buffeting, it is basically mild and considerably better than no screen.

I had the same problem with the buffeting. I'm 6'1" and found that if I crouch down about an inch it works OK. Not very comfortable. I finally took it off. No shield is better than that shield for me.
I do like the mounting hardware. The quality is good. I'm thinking of trying a taller shield with the Triumph hardware.
I tried the tubing around the shield and it didn't seem to do much.

I was wearing a half helmet.. Shoei St Cruz
It is your great reviews which help guide my purchases
Acutually your review of the 2003 T100 was what helped make up my mind to buy the bike.

Scratch my reply, thought you had an America. I guess the mounting on the standard is different. Hope you work it out, shame to make that kind of investment.

I have an 05 America. I had the same buffeting problem with the Roadster screen. I am 6'2". I ride with an HJC shorty helmet. Lots of buffeting. I went to one of the Harley shops and bought a snap on face shield that flips up in the air and stays there until you need it. Don't know the name brand but it has a metal band going across the helmet where the snaps are. While riding with it up in the air the wind comes off the angled windshield and hits the allready angled faceshield that is in the up position. No buffeting. Faceshield in the down position, slight buffeting. I assume by your complaints that you ride with an open face helmet. This $20 fix helped me out immensely. Other than that I would probably need a faceshield 2" higher.

The roadster screen is a royal pain for turbulence--not just buffeting of the rider, but (completely independent of your size/wind profile) it is capable of applying unwanted twists and turns directly to the front end. The summer screen is much better for handling if you simply have to have a screen.
