A few months back my wife Cheryl decided she was tired of waiting for me to get home to take her for a ride so she signed up for the MSF course.
She took the course July 8-10, got her license the 11th and bought herself an 06 Honda Rebel 250 (cuz that's what she was comfortable on) on the 13th.
I tried to talk her out of the Rebel telling her she would outgrow it in a month. The dealer told her when she outgrew it in a month he would give her full retail on a trade.
Last night she saw a Blue Bonnie at the Triumph shop (which is an affiliate of the Honda shop) and became very interested.
This morn she took the demo for a ride and was grinin ear to ear within a mile.
Just shy of the anticipated month Cheryl is the proud owner of an 05 Aegean Blue Bonnie and they gave her the same full retail trade on the Rebel as their affiliate promised.
And this from a woman who swore she was gonna get a Sportster when she was ready to move up.
Once the Triumph pulls you in there is no escape!
Next stop - Stowe VT.

Congratulations and welcome Cheryl!! I wish my wife had the desire to want to learn to ride a motorcycle. Oh well, at least I still get to. Enjoy your new Bonneville, I think you made a fine choice. The Sportster is nice, but everyone has one.

Well done Cheryl, are there many women riders in the USA?
My wife has been riding bikes for fifteen years now (alas a BMW 650GS) and is always pleased to hear of other women riders. People see us with our helmets and always assume she is my pillion.
I like the female attitude to motorcycling, just get on and ride, no chat, no rubbish, no excuses, pure enjoyment,
The riding style is feminine as well, little aggression and safer, In fact she gets a whopping 30% discount on her insurance.

Wow! 30% discount on insurance? That's fantastic! My wife is thinking seriously about getting a bike. She ride pillion with me, but recently started saying things like "Would this bike fit me?" and "I'm not sure this is the model I should own, what do you think?", or "Didn't they have flyers for Motorcycle Safety Training at the Triumph shop?". I'm pretty excited about it, the moment you decide you want to learn to ride, everything changes. I can hardly wait to see her going down the road on her own bike, it will be a beautiful thing!
