Just got home from a run and found another broken spoke on the front wheel of my T100. The bike is brand new from October 05 and this is now the third spoke to go in only 2000 miles. Luckily the bike is still under warranty but it is very inconvenient when it happens and for the third time in less than a year it is happening too often. Don't fancy having to sort this after the warranty expires. Dealer can't give me an answer. Any ideas out there? :???:

Steve,

There's an interesting discussion going on over at delphiforums.com(New Triumph Bonneville forum)about spokes breaking. If the link doesn't work, the post number is 11577.1. I believe the consensus of opionion is that Triumph has a problem with spokes breaking prematurely on Bonnevilles due to incorrect tightening of spokes at the factory, lack of maintenance, hubs that are drilled incorrectly, or a combination of all of the above. The problem is certainly not huge but it is a concern, especially to people such as yourself that have had broken spokes on relatively new bikes. There are over 300 posts so far. Here's the link: Broken Spokes

There has been a BIG discussion of this on the New Triumph Bonneville Forum. Apparently it is a problem that affects a few numbers of Bonnies and most never have a problem. It seems that if you do experience it, it repeats. One of the folks is collecting the names of people experiencing this problem and has contacted Triumph. Here is the link to the thread on this forum. Hawk is the person initiateing the contact with Triumph.
