my t100 would not run after getting soaked in heavy down pour...my air box removale kit gromet had vibrated out,filling the air box\filter with water.
easy fix but one to watch out for guys...)
Still love it to bits though.

I think some people have used a silicone adhesive to keep in the plug.

My mental picture of your problem is a little clearer if I read your statement to say "...my Air Injector (AI) removal kit gromet had vibrated out...." instead of "air box removal kit."

It may be interesting to see how a bonnie with the airbox removed and pod filters does when caught in a heavy rain.
