I need a pair of gloves for warm weather riding to shield my hands from the sun. they need to be long enough to overlap a long sleeve shirt so that my entire arm and hand are not exposed. They need to have NO lining and the thinner the better. But the only gloves i see of any length are the heavily padded gauntlets for cold weather. Anybody know of a pair like this and if so where can i find them? Thanks.

Good idea dazco. I have some Icon Superduty gloves that are great but they leave a small section of wrist exposed that leaves me with little burn bracelets after a long ride.

Good lord, don't go with sweat bands!

Look into the Vanson Saturn:

Vanson Gloves

or the Aerostich 424:

Aerostich

The Vanson is higher quality and looks better (but the price is higher). The Aerostich gloves look like you just finished doing the dishes but are very functional -- and they look better after a few rides. Both gloves are deerskin and quite cool and comfortable.

You've got a problem. You want lightweight gloves for warm weather riding, but you need them long enough to overlap a long-sleeved shirt. Anything that long probably isn't going to be too cool and probably is not going to be very light. I know a guy in Northern California who rides every day who speaks highly of Lee Parks gloves. The great thing about them is that they have very few seams and fit like a second skin, albeit deerskin (which is much more abrasion-resistant than cowhide). But they are pretty pricey. Check them out here:

The problem is none of them really tell you what lining if any they have. I'd really like to find some in a local chain so i can look at them and try.

Nice, but the day i can afford to spend that kind of cash on a pair of gloves i won't have to ask questions like this ! :-D

I have the perfed highway gloves from Triumph. Long enough for the sleeve, unlined and perforated so they are not that hot.

Decent padding on the palm, so not much "numb throttle hand".

My Icon Superduty gloves are also deerskin.

A deerskin glove buying tip - They stretch.

I got a women's medium but now they have broken in and fit more like a large.

I use my TIG Welding Gloves for short range summer riding. They are thin deerskin with wrist protection and you hardly know they are on. The ones in the link only cost about $7 and you can can them from a welding supply company (I use Ram Welding Supply Online )

If I am going to ride any distance, summer or winter, in California or Ohio, I use my Lee Parks gloves. They are warm in winter and my hands don't get hot in the summer.

Those are perfect ! But you say no lining except in the palm, right? Other than the palm are they very thin? (i want a feel thats almost like i'm not wearing gloves) I may have to seek these out at a Triumph dealer. More than i want to spend, but non-lined in a gauntlet style is gonna be hard enough to find, and surely i'd never find one with perforations which is a huge bonus !Thanks.
