i just put on my togas and was surprised at the sound. they are much louder then i remember when i heard them on another bike a few weeks ago. especially 1st-3rd as i'm getting up to speed. once i'm moving or at idle i really like the sound.

however i still need to rejet the carbs and hoping my kit comes this week.(which i've decided to let the dealer do).

will there be any sound difference once this is done?

Rejetting will not affect the sound. It will produce better throttle response and more power. Plus your engine will not be running so lean and, thus, run cooler.

My Togas have mellowed quite a bit since first installed. I've never thought about why. Maybe carbon buildup on the inside.

Funny you should say that. I was just thinking that on my ride today. At first I wasn't sure, but came convinced by the end of the ride.

i'm still waiting for a verdict. my "passenger" is coming home today after visiting a friend for the weekend and if it's really too loud for her... :hammer:

from a distance of around 10+ they sound perfect but on the seat it looks like i might need to get some ear plugs.

Performance pipes usually only sound truly loud when the engine is loaded, so you're not going to notice so much at cruising speed. I think you might do well to give your passenger earplugs anyway, a lot of guys I've met make sure their passengers have earplugs.
