For those who have installed the Bonneville grab rail, how simple was the installation? Christov?

As I recall, it was very easy and straightforward. No worries.

As I recall, I think the rear fender needed to be removed for installation. I personally did NOT do this installation, but had it done by the dealer when I purchased the bike. IF you do decide on the grabrail, I think you will be quite pleased. The quality is top notch!!

Christov is correct to the best of my memory. I installed the high sissy bar which attaches to the same rails as does the grab rail. The rear fender had to be removed to install this rail. The directions were straight forward and I had no problems. the stock screws that hold the rear fender (mudguard) are pretty poor quality. While I was at it I replaced them with stainless steel screws I bought from Ace Hardware.

I'm not particularly mechanical and I did it easily. You'll really like the look, too.

I installed the grab rail on my 05 Bonneville a couple of months ago. It was a complete piece of cake (yes the read fender has to come off but it's not a problem). The only problem I had was with getting my Corbin gunfighter & lady seat back on. The grabrail and/or dresser bar (can't remember which) interferred slightly with the sides of the Corbin. The fix was easy. I shimmed the Corbin seat rear bracket with a couple of washers. Problem solved. -dh

Allan, I have one on mine, it fits perfectly with the NH solo seat and the smuggler as well.

Highly recommended. Easy install.

I had to cut a small piece of the plastic airbox away to get enough clearance for the mounting bolts to pass through. No big deal.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but I installed Triumph's grab rail on my '03, and all I had to take off was the seat. No need to remove the rear fender.

Hi Allan,

Yeah, you do have to remove the rear fender, the reason being that you have to bolt into some attachment points on the top, inside of the rear shock mounts. It's really easy though, there are only four screws and one electrical connector attached to the rear fender. You can have it off in under five minutes. The rest of the grab rail installation is pretty easy too. When you get your grab rail, you'll find it has instructions included.

Cheers!
