I received my Brosh Ultra CK summer jacket today from Tel-Aviv. I placed the order on 7/5/05 via INTERNET so I am impressed with the promptness of the service. I ordered a size large in the gray and black. The jacket fits perfectly due to the Velcro adjusters at strategic locations. The sleeves are plenty long even when I stretch out on the Thruxton. I'm 5'11', 165 lbs. The word "cool" does not due this garment justice in either looks or performance. What a great looking jacket and much, much, cooler than my vented Raptor at stopped intersections and even at speed. Don't get me wrong, my Raptor is a great jacket, very substantial and sharp looking, but in this sweltering Philadelphia heat and humidity it was near killing me. The armor that I ordered with the Brosh seems substantial enough and the jacket is reinforced at strategic locations with Kevlar. Total cost was $186.00.

Check out the Closeout section. They just added some Joe Rocket mesh jackets today for 71.00.

I'm a big guy (that's PC for I'm a big fat arse). I bought the Fieldsheer airmesh jacket. Unfortunately, it's cut a little small, so my elbow pads are down on my forearms.

I've heard from numerous sources that Fieldsheer stuff runs really small.

A lot of things I've read have Fieldsheer being consistantly 1-2 sizes small. I'm sticking with the two size rule.

I have the Firstgear meshtex and like it. It's the first mesh jacket I've had so I can't compare it to others but it works great for me.

OK, got my Teknic Supervent MESH jacket today from New Enough. They still have some at $65 clearance. First impression is a high quality jacket with real armor and great venting. Their size chart said I was a 46 but I got a 48 and it's just about right. For this price, I'm gonna call this jacket a steal. Only drawback is no rain liner but they can be had pretty cheaply on various web sites.

The Fieldsheer jackets do seem to run a little small, but are pretty nice jackets, myself and a friend both have one.
You can find them at www.brocktoncycle.com for $70 or $80.

I was talking to a friend who has both a Vanson perforated leather jacket and a First Gear Mesh Tex jacket. He noted the Vanson was not as cooling as one might expect because at speed the front plasters to your torso and that pretty effectively stops the cooling. In order to restart some air flow you need to pull the front of the jacket away from your torso. He noted the FG Mesh Tex did not have that problem and cooled more effectively.

I've checked out both this FG jacket and just sprung for the Joe Rocket Santa Fe leather/mesh jacket. Perforated leather sleeves, mesh torso, double density foam armor (shoulders, elbows and back). Currently at a closeout price of $99.99 from AZ MotorSports in Phoenix, see:

http://store.azmusa.com/closprodspec-jr-santa.html

...only sold through their online store. Seems like a pretty good deal, hopefully it will be an effective jacket for cooling while offering some reasonable amount of protection. We'll see...
