I don't see the raptor anywhere for $300? Which model is that?

Try the link for Triumph Jackets Their price is $118 for the raptor vented.

Other options for me is the Hoxton and especially the Cortech Breeze.

Here is the link for the Cortech Breeze

Looks like he's talking about Perforated Raptor Leather jacket for $212.50.

The vented leather will be much warmer than, any of the mesh jackets. I have had a couple of Joe Rockets, the Phoenix and the next one up the line with leather on the shoulders, both do a good job and come with armor. Also check out power up line they have some nice ones. good luck-T1

Both my wife and I wear the Triumph Raptor mesh jacket. It is hot and humid here and, as posted above, after 90 degrees, anything is hot. I find that even in the intense heat, I am still cooler that I would be wearing a short sleeve shirt with no jacket.

As Dazco stated, the black color for summer wear is absurd. Fortunately our Raptor mesh jackets are not all black. I am considering the Raptor mesh trousers which, unfortunately are all black. I have not been able to find any mesh trousers with armor that are not all black.

Just to clarify...

When people keep referring to the Raptor mesh, do they really mean Raptor Vented Jacket?

If it is different, please post a link to the mesh jacket.

Thanks

I am certainly glad this thread has started. For several weeks I have been wanting to buy one of the Triumph mesh jackets, but none of the dealers I visit have them.

I am torn between the Rochester mesh jacket and the Raptor vented jacket (if it is indeed mesh as bosoxrider asked). The web pictures are not great; therefore there are none of the jackets to look at, try on, nothing.

What IS the difference between the two, outside of the logos? And what experience did you have with sizing, or what size adjustments should I make? I usually wear a size 40 suit coat, and can't decide whether to get a 40 or 42...

Thanks from me also for everyones help

Another vote for the raptor textile mesh jacket. Fine quality at a reasonable price. I think I payed $125 minus a 10% dealer discount. - dh

I recently bought a Fieldsheer

Even now it is black as long as your not sitting still it flow air quit nicely. The jacket is cut for riding position and is very very comfy. Doesn't say Triumph on it, but hey who wants to be a walking billboard.

I bought a FirstGear MeshTex II for $130, but you can get it now at newenough for $108. It looks pretty similar to the Triumph Raptor Mesh. Shoulder, elbow, back armor, one inside pocket, two zipped outside pockets, removable windproof liner, available in black plus black and silver, red, blue, yellow, mens and womens sizes. I got one in silver and black. Very good in warm weather. Less than 80 and I go back to Hein Gerecke leather jacket with the liner out and the vents open. I bought this because I know how I fit FirstGear and could try it on at a local shop, whereas the Raptor looks great, but I couldn't find anywhere around here to try it on.

Backinthewater,
My dealer had the raptor, I think because thats the most popular. I liked the fit and feel, but not the looks. The Rochester is hard to see from the standard Triumph pics. I took the leap and ordered the Rochester in the size the fit me in the Raptor and was very pleasantly surprised. It seemed to fit better than the Raptor and looks much better in person than the pictures. I like the styling and it vents as well if not better than the descriptions of the Raptor. I am very pleased with my purchase. As far as the Back logo is concerned, it looks better in person than in the pics as well, kind of subdued.

P.S. The Raptor vented mesh pants are great as well!
