I was lubing my Bonnie Black chain this morning and it made me start thinking about getting a lift since I don't have a center stand. Sure do find it a pain to do it he old fashion way. While looking at the under carriage it seemed to me that a lift such as the one found at Sears or Harbor Freight might rest on the engine or worse yet the oil filter. Anybody have experience with one of these lifts on a bonnie?

Thanks

I looked under mine speedmaster and it seemed like it would be fine depending on the distance between the 2 lifting rests on the perticulat jack you get. However, maybe they are adjustable so the rests can be further or closer.

in any case, funny i should see such a post because i was just out looking for one today. So if you have a Kragen auto parts near you check it out and see if they're having the same sale where you are that they are here, which is $49 for a 1500 LB motorcycle jack. Normal price i'm not sure, as the salesman didn't know. But he said he thought normall $79 or $89. In any case, i was ready to buy until i realized how big these things are ! I think i may have to try and get by w/o one because i have no place to store it living in an apartment and sharing a very small car port area. But if thats not a problem for you, this thing looks big and strong as heck, which it should be at 1500 LB capacity. And at $49 i think you won't ever find a better deal. i may still get one yet if i can figure out where i could put it.

Used that Sears lift on my Bonnie for several years, no probs. Plenty of spots where the lift contacts only the frame. No worries.

Harbor Freight also has a nice lift as well. Colapses down for easy storage. Nice unit.

See Lift Here!

And I tried to save myself some money today, so I got the parts and built myself one of these:
$20 bike lift.
Cost me about $50 (including a new drill bit).

Tried to lift my speedmaster with it, but no way was that thing strong enough.

Later today I walked past a local car parts store, and it turns out they have some nice lifts on sale for about $40.

I have a Harbor Frieght lifts my bonnie fine, I used it to life my old goldwing too cost was around 50 bucks. Just make sure the arms are not resting on your oil filter - especially if you have a K&N with the bolt sticking down.

Another vote for the Harbor Freight lift. I got it on sale for $59 + shipping. I'm very pleased with it. I would suggest using a tie down strap with it.

every jack you guys are mentioning is the same one i mentioned is on sale at kragen right now for $49 ! It's $79 or 89 at harbor feight, sears, etc. Don't bother looking at the brand name.......these are obviously all the same jack re-branded and made by the same factory.Check out kragen and save $.
