As many of the folks that have installed the NH m-bars have noted, they can result in an increase in handlebar buzz. The buzz will cause the stock mirrors to make the view behind you blurry at speeds above 50 or 60 mph and can also cause your hands to go numb on longer rides - at least all of this was the case for me. In my opinion this is the only negative about the m-bars. Even with this, I've been very please with them after about 1200 miles.

Last weekend I installed the liquid version of barsnake (www.barsnake.com) in my bars. The results were pretty positive. I don't know that the buzz situation is as good as with the stock bars but I think it's pretty close. It's a very noticeable improvement over the m-bars without the barsnake.

For those of you who may not have heard of the barsnake, the standard version apparently is a "snake like" thing that can be slid into the bars to add weight and reduce vibration. I couldn't use the standard version since I have the m-bars with the welded in bar cap adapters (i.e. plugs). So I ordered the liquid version. It is intended for bars with tight bends or internally routed cables, etc. that would make installing the standard bar snake impossible. It comes in two bags that you mix together just before pouring into the bars. It's about the consistency of sticky pancake batter. To get the stuff past the hole in the bar end adapters, I bought the largest syringe that I could find at a farm supply center (60 ml used for animal vaccinations). The cure time is 24hrs.

If you have the m-bars and would like to reduce the buzz, you might want to give this stuff a try. - dh

Has anyone just rotated the stock bars down with any positive results?

Rotating the handlebars down, isn't that an old cafe racer trick?

I've rotated my bars down a little and they became (for me) quite a bit more comfortable. I didn't try to flip the bars, but just rotated them back a little - nice feel. I'm going to try some Western bars (from Bellacorse) and see how they are. With these bars I'm going to use a pair of Napoleon bar end mirrors - I think they will quell any little vibration there might be. The Western bars look a little better than the stock bars and are the same width and about the same rise and pullback.
