It got up to 60°F here in southern MN today, and I didn't have much time but my wife and I managed to get out on our first ride of the season!
I had to jump the battery on the Bonneville, and after running for 10 minutes I took it off the jumper cables and it died right away.
I took the battery out and put it on the tender and the light immediately turned to green for 'fully charged'. Hmmm. Fried?
So, not to be stopped, I pulled the battery out of my '84 Shadow and dropped it into the Bonneville.
It fired right up!
Nice little $40 AGM from Fleet Farm held it's charge all winter!
So, we headed out of town right away wanting to get away from puddles, potholes and piles of sand.
The county roads around Northfield were nice and clear.
Had fun trading waves with lots of other happy bikers on the road.
Yay, spring is coming! (Of course, we'll probably get our annual basketball-playoffs-winter-storm, but we're moving in the right direction!)
