Hey Steve, my brother just came across a picture of your cut-down tank on the interweb (the cut down Bonneville tank, not the squared-off one you made). He was blown away by it (just like I was).

I did a search and found your thread showing the weld marks etc., but I couldn't find any pics of the cutting and welding process. Did you take any pics of it that you could post? I think he'd be very keen to try his hand at it too. (He can make one for me while he's at it!)

The cut down the middle tank or the cut across the bottom tank? I didn't take a lot of pics for either project,but I'm sure there might be a couple around. The flat bottom tank was a lot easier,I know.

I didn't realize you'd done two. I found pics of the cut down the middle one. Did you post any of the other one? If so, I'll do another search.

Ody,I didn't take many pics of that one. It was pretty simple to do,so I just did it.I removed the petcock so the tank would lay flat on a surface,taped a Sharpie pen to a board and drew it around the tank,cut off the bottom of the tank with the angle grinder and a very thin cut-off disc and then welded some 16g steel sheet metal across the opening.
