After an amazing winter of record snowfall in the Wash/Md/Va area, I actually awoke this morning to birds singing. It will come as no surprise to the readers of this site to learn their song was that old Arlo Guthrie chestnut - Just Wanna Ride My Motorcy-cul.
Won't be long now !!!!!

Our Winter started early and never let up. We had a normal snow cover but no warm spells to speak of. Last weekend was in the low 40's and I took the bike out for a short spin just to asuage my persistent cabin fever. Hope is on the way, I looked out the kitchen window this afternoon and saw a couple of (rude ) squirrels planning their family. That has to be a good sign, eh? At least for Mr. Squirrel.

It's back

Last week was great - the remnant snow - a lot really, a foot or so and 5 foot drifts - melted rapidly with temps around 50 F. Got the bike out, running, streets not too bad, modest rains removed most salts. But for the threat (realized) of rain, seriously considered commuting on the bike this week. Can't wait for that - not a great ride in terms of traffic, speeds, etc., but still a great ride.

Know what i mean?

But now, woke up to snow, more snow tonight. Not good.

Colorado's front range usually gets a number of sunny and 60 days each winter, but this year they've been nonexistent. Lots of snow and ice, and less sun I think. Of course, I've still gotten about 500m in this winter. Anything over 30 and dry has been good enough for me!
