Tick Tick Tick

I've noticed on my 2009 EFI Bonnie that every time I let off on the gas, the bike makes a single ticking noise. It's sounds like either a small piece tapping something or an electrical circuit opening and closing. If I hold the RPMs right around 2,500, it will tick multiple times until I increase or decrease the RPMs. Any thoughts?

Is the bike moving or stationary?
Just a thought, but if it's moving, could be a
stone stuck in your tire tread.

It's not the valves. They wouldn't just tick when I let off the throttle or hold the RPMs around 2,500.

I'm surprised to learn the Bonnie has 9 valves. 4 or one side and 5 on the other?

The Air Injection unit on the new Bonny's make a clatter when you roll off or shut the throttle.

Have you removed the AI ?

If not, then my guess is that it's that you are hearing.
