New Bonneville NARK for Scrambler 900

Installed the New Bonneville Airbox Removal Kit the other day. A few words of warning to those of you considering this modification to your Scrambler.

First off, the instructions are bad. Basically, a poor photocopy with blurry pictures and they are not even of a Scrambler, but some other model. The instructions make no mention of rejetting your carbs or rebalancing them after rejetting - which should be done.

Secondly, the instructions were not for a Scrambler but another Triumph model and so confusing and innacurate (but explains the incorrect pictures I guess). The instructions also tell you to remove your exhaust. I completed the project without removing them.

Third, You will need to fabricate a bracket to hold your right side cover in position, as the mounting spot provided on the Newbonneville Airbox I recieved was in the wong position. When I contacted New Bonneville they were aware of this problem but had no intention of addressing it. They suggested I remove the entire kit and return it.

Just a warning Scrambler owners (hence this post). All in all, a dissapointing customer service experience.

I think many on this forum are aware of the issue with the kit and have posted before [Otherwise a great kit]. I didn't bother replacing the covers on my own Scrambler as I think the bike looks better with them off, but the electrics are prone to to getting a little damp.

The instructions not covering the scrambler wasn't a problem as I saw no need to take off the exhaust but I think it would be a good idea if the instructions did mention that removing the exhaust on the Scrambler wasn't necessary.

If anybody is thinking of doing any modifications to their bike, do a search of this forum first, most issues have been covered at length, so doing a quick search could save you time, money and disappointment.
