If you got one post it here! I have been wanting to get a tank bag for my Bonny but would like to see how they look on our bikes. There are a few shown on the saddlebag picture thread - but let's narrow it down. I for one am looking for a smaller tank bag that will be great for around town as well as being useful for short trips. The Cortech Super Mini looks like it may look pretty good on the Bonny. It's around $50. I've seen some pretty cool custom leather ones over the years as well. The Triumph Sixty8 little leather bag looks pretty functional.
Here's what I'm considering:
Cortech Super Mini
• 1680D Ballistic nylon exterior
• Clear-Vu snap map pocket
• Heavy-duty large tooth zippers
• Scotchlite® 3M reflective Tour Master logo
• Top flap internal organizer pocket
• Drawstring closure rain cover
• TPR Zipper Pulls
• Tricot interior lining
• Rubberized carrying handle
• Shielded magnetic mounting system
• Safety tether strap
• Protective non-slip / non-scratch mounting base
• Easy access top load main compartment
• 10"L x 8"W x 5"H (Approx) (6.5 Liter Capacity)
Take care. I was trying tank bags for size at my local shop (the plastic tank badges interfere with the magnets) and at the end of it I noticed that I had put some quite deep scratches into the paint on the tank. Ended up not buying one - it put me off quite a lot!!!
I have a Cortech Super Mini Tank Bag that I use off and on. It's a little small but handy; I can get my jacket liner, spare gloves (small ones) and a few other odds and ends in it. I picked it because I don't really like the look of tankbags; but since it's small and doesn't look that bad. Because of that I sometimes use it as a tail bag instead; although a bungie net is required.
Here are some pictures.

A few things:
The map window compartment opening is a little tight, you have to fold stuff pretty narrow to get it in.
I am able to get a KBC helmet visor in the tankbag, barely. So I can wear the dark smoke and have the clear with me in case it gets dark.
I always check and clean the bottom carefully before putting it on and so far no scratches. I have considered some of that protective plastic for the tank, maybe.
"...a simple flat bottom bag utilizing our universal 4 point mounting system for maximum security on the tank. Even though it is compact, we included our expansion gusset for those "just in case" moments where more capacity is needed."
I had the same trouble with the Triumph tank bag I got with the bike. It did some serious scratching of the tank. After I finally was able to rub the paint out, I remounted it on my luggage rack. With a few modifications it works great. Easily removable and yet stays right where it's supposed to at all speeds, and bumps. It also expands to twice the size in the picture. Big enough to carry an extra helmet.
I use a strap on for my Honda. It does leave slight marks under the plastic buckles but not scratches. IMO my triumph bonneville tank is tall looking and a tank bag would look awkward.
Not on a Bonneville and not small but my touring rig on my Speedmaster is massive. Has a strap that goes around the steering head to help hold it in place.
Here's two in one photo. Mrs. Mayday's bike in the foreground sports a compact magnetic bag from Firstgear, and my bike in the background has the no longer available OEM Triumph bag.
I've had this Triumph tank bag since new in 09. Works great on my T100. Plenty big enough and I've never had to expand it to its fullest like this pic.
