Hi folks, I was disappointed to find that the side panels on my wife's T100 are plastic, ugh! I know the originals in the 60's were metal. Does anyone know if the chrome accessory side panels are metal? I don't want to over chrome the bike, but I hate plastic!!! Does anyone have a picture with a T100 with chrome panels? Lar

Some '04 side panels were steel. I believe all '03 and earlier models were steel. Post what you want in the classified area of this forum and someone with the older bikes who have purchased chrome side covers may sell you their original black steel side covers--just my suggestion.

I replaced the black plastic side panels on my T-100 with chrome panels. And yes, they are metal. I believe I paid $135 for the set from the dealer. I had a 1964 TR-6 and the panels were metal. However one side was not a panel but rather the oil tank. The other side was a panel however it housed the big kludge Lucas ignition switch and headlight switch. I had taken both of these off and had them chromed. Much easier and less expensive on the new Trumpets.

The '03 T100 side covers were steel and I sold mine for $50, as best as I can recall.
