Hot Summer Nights

My favorite time to swing a leg over the Black and go for a toot is those Summer evenings when the Sun goes down and the house is still warm from the heat of day. It's great for me to go for a toot, not very far, just long enough to get the heat of the day blown off and smell the night smells (even skunk squirt ain't so bad). I have a 40 minute or so loop the goes by a couple of lakes, out to the edge of the country where you can dip into small valleys where you feel the cool air.

Ahhh yes. Now I'm waiting for the Summer to get here.:

Van Halen shares your sentiments:

We made it through the cold
This freezin' snow is gettin' really old
Next year i'll head out for the coast
Say boys, i think that might just call for a toast, yea
I got a line, you got a pole
I'll meet you down at the ole fishing hole
Yea them girls are biting good tonight

Summer nights and my radio
That's all we need baby, don't cha know
We celebrate when the the gang's all here
Hot summer nights, that's my time of the year

This post reminded me... I was dreaming of something last night, can't remember exactly. I was out in the country. The trees were green and a bunch of my friends were talking about something... and then the middle of the dream I realized it was warm and sunny!! The rest of my dream was just me trying to get back to my garage to get my bike out. Never made it, woke up before I got a ride in.

Easy to figure that dream out....

Those hot Summer nights in Canada can be really sweet too, but kinda short. There used to be free ferrys across some of the big lakes in Alberta and BC. Not sure if it's still that way, but it was fun way back when.
