Money burnt a hole in my pocket? - No Never

So Saturday, the man came to collect my car, paid in cash, big envelope full of £20 notes. Monday to the bank to pay it in about 2.30pm. By 3.20pm most of it was blown on an '09 Bonnie SE. Dealer will fit the free-flowing silencers for trade price. Later the same day, I rented a garage for secure storage, got a competitive insurance quote, and went on Ebay to watch some ground anchors.

Money Burning a hole in my pocket.... No chance!

I pick it up on Saturday, weather permitting of course. Am I mad to purchase a motorbike in the middle of the worst winter in 30 years?

Andy

Isn't that a line from an old Rod Stewart song?

If it wasn't such a bad winter you'd prob pay retail for your mufflers so no, you aren't any crazier than the rest of us.
That's not saying very much, and the mufflers will be only the start.

Nuts? No Way!

This is a fantastic time to get a Bonnie. The opportunity to ride may suck right now, but as soon as that first decent day...........Yeah Baby!

Good on you for not letting a bit of money burn a hole in your pants. You only live once. And yeah, you'll be ready to rumble once the first signs of spring are there.

I was only today thinking, as I ploughed my way through a tropical downpour, how impetuous I was to buy my Scrambler at the start of the 07 Wet Season. These days I only ride through torrential rain if I really have to. But back then I was so keen to ride, I paid scant attention to what the sky was doing. In fact I had to buy 3 sets of Wets. So I always had a dry set to wear.
So were you mad to buy a bike in the middle of Winter? Not at all. Just get plenty of warm gear, & get out there whenever the weather allows (just take it easy on the slippery stuff)

Congrats on the new ride. I bought mine in November, which seemed a slightly crazy thing to do at the time, but I have still managed to put more >1000 miles on it despite the poxy winter we have had.

At least you don't have to wait long till the Spring. Hopefully.

No you're not mad at all, you don't want that money hanging around in banks, we all know they won't look after it. Much better to hand it over to Triumph

Enjoy your ride and post some pics of it when you've got it home.
