Triumph on TV

My wife was watching "The Bachelor" the other day - yes, my wife.

The Bachelor rides a Bonnie. Funny thing though: they've taped over the letters on the chrome tank logo so you can't see the the "Triumph" name on any close-ups.

Anyway, it's always cool to see our bikes on TV.

Cheers

Why would they do that? Maybe Triumph refused to pay the product placement bribe.

Perhaps a clever move if they did.... those that don't know are going to get curious what the tapes hiding.

Ah yes product placement. I'll have to take a swing of Pepto Bismol and then rinse my mouth with Listerine, before I sit down with my cup of Yuban coffee and look at the next post.

So I keep hearing you crazy, manly guys talking about the Bachelor, and figured that tonight I'd actually watch it with my wife instead of going down to Omega Sector (aka the basement) for the hour and doing my own thing.

I had my phone with me, so I snapped some pics whenever the Bonnie was on (which was a lot during the show). I'm not completely schooled on the Bonnies but it looks like he has a standard silver bonnie from before the standards had the all black engine. The bike also has the Triumph crash bars on it. Funny thing was that for most of the shots of the bike it sounded as if a harley-type rumble was dubbed over the stock pipes, because then in one scene he rides off with a girl on it and it's the stock sound. TV magic I tell ya.

Funny thing.. from this angle (and I watched it several times) the tank badge looked like the waffle design with no tape on it, and all the other scenes I saw looked like the standard eyebrown badge with black tape over the Triumph. Being in film & television myself I know that nothing is ever what it seems!

I'm in the biz too, and I happen to know that half the shots in reality shows are fill-ins taped well after the "actual" events of the show. Could be two entirely different bikes in two completely different places (which is what I'm sure you're implying here).

Is it just me or does he have an uncanny resemblance to Kazoo from Flinstones with that helmet on......

My favourite Triumph on TV was The Two Fat Ladies' TBird Outfit.

Politically incorrect, high fat fun.
