Wind noise--windshield???

I have a T100 and the wind noise is getting to me. I am playing around with earplugs but I don't think they are going to do it. How about a windshield. All the posts about windshields I have read talk about buffeting and not noise.

Wind noise is more a product of your helmet's design. A windshield takes some of the wind off your body and sometimes your helmet, if it's not quite right it will buffet your helmet, which may make it noisier.

If you like the open faced helmet design then I would suggest trying a Davida...that is by far the quietest helmet I have ever put on my head to include some full face helmets that I have owned. 6t is right though, a good helmet will cut down on a lot of that wind noise without even having a screen in front of you.

I normally stay away from windshields because of the extra noise they create. Naked bikes are normally much quieter in my experiance, that said the little triumph flyscreen on my thruxton seems pretty good. If you travel at over 70mph expect noise and use earplugs.

wind noise

Thanks to all...this is a great resource.
Problem solved the Hearos earplugs.
I may go for one of those Davida helmets too.
The wind noise for me is just as bad with no helmet.

Thanks again.

Discovered the exact same thing. Switched helmets, big help. Second, my Parabellum (16" screen) was causing undue helmet noise as I discovered when I crouched down very slightly and the wind noise greatly diminished. I changed the angle of the shield resulting in a slightly higher, more upright position (as high as it would go without pulling too much on the rubber mounted turn signals). Big difference in noise.
