2010 Bonny T100 Vs Harley Superglide/SG Custom

Need some help. Does anyone have an direct experience-or indirect regarding both bikes in terms of ownership, rideability, experiences, pros-cons etc?

I am 52 years old (6ft 4in, 220lbs) and I'm very interested in both the Triumph Bonneville T100 and Harley FXDC Superglide/Superglide Custom. I know, 2 different bikes/power but those are the 2 that excite me the most. I know most would align the bonny with the Harley Sportster which I don't want to consider. I won't be doing any Touring. Mostly local riding in my area. Obviously the price point is lower with the Bonny T100 as well. Thanks !

At your size you'll be a lot more comfortable on the HD. Any highway time at all on the Bonnie is going to feel cramped and underpowered. But if you only ride around town the T100 will be much more nimble and feel "cooler" IMO. And of course a big price difference as well but I'd bet you can find a motivated seller with a Superglide fairly easily.
I've got a Street Glide and a Scrambler, the HD at 400 lbs more will still walk away from the Scram. The Scram will out maneuver the HD in any situation. But they are both really fun bikes and don't require much other than routine maintenance, at least in my experience.

It really depends on what really tickles your fancy. If you want a fun bike to ride, I think the Bonnie wins hands down. The Harley is a nice bike if that's what U want, but the people I know that have bikes like that are more interested in looking good.

BTW, if you get the Bonnie, be prepared for Harley guys to notice you, the Glide will just be one of many. I origonally got mine because I didn't wnt to be one of the crowd......

Those are two great choices - if I were going to buy an H-D, the Super Glide would be the one. My Bonneville is perfect, to me, and I do take a long trip (2-3000 miles) at least once a year. I don't see its highway manners as an issue at all, but I'm only 5'8". Have you ridden one? The Super Glide might be more comfortable.
They're both great rides. I wouldn't take anyone's advice if I were you - ride them both and pick the one that rings your bell.

Good God, not another 'HD or Bonneville' thread. Ever heard of search? That and the fact that most people here will prefer Triumphs (what with it being a Triumph forum). These threads are getting far too regular.

Edit: Sorry, I've had a really ****ty day, but come on, use the search function and give them both a test ride
Much love

As much as I love playing around on my new 06 Scrambler, it still feels like a toy to me compared to my HD Street glide. I've owned sporty's, Dyna Lowrider, Springer Softail, Heritage Softail, Ultraglides , Buell, Ducati, blah blah blah. They are all good. The HD you like is a GREAT all around bike with gobs of torque. You will be in heaven, and it handles real well also. For your size I think the HD is a better fit. I will likey take some heat for that statement. As much as I liked looking at my Harley's I do actually ride about 10k a year. I like looking at my Triumph too. I've set it up for exploring some fire roads in the pinelands of NJ. The HD is not super on dirt.

i was down to those same two bikes after mos. of shoppin and research. if i was your size i probably would have got the Glide. im 5'11 and 225. the Glide foot controls were too far up for me. wich would have meant i gotta change the pipes and pegs right off. i agree with other posts here that the coolness factor definately goes to the T100. my harley pals love my bike. and its sooo fun and easy to ride.. Damn i love my bike

Besides your size I think another important factor is your riding style. If you just like to putt around town then the Glide will be fine and might fit your needs better. But if you like riding in the twisties at all then the weight and size of the Glide will become quickly evident.

I had an '06 Super Glide 35th anniversary model. Great Cruiser, looked cool, sounded good (with accessory mufflers) but I like to lean in a corner especially here in Colorado.

Fast forward: Sold the Glide, now a few bikes later, own an '09 Bonneville SE which does a lot more things well than the Harley, looks even cooler, sounds great, handles really well, is two up comfortable and 300 lbs. lighter and $5000 cheaper. I'm 6' - 185 lbs.

I'm sure if you took a poll you would find many large riders on Bonnevilles. You large guys out there can confirm this.

I'm 6'3" with a 34" inseam. I don't find my T-100 cramped. While it's no Gold wing, it's OK for a couple hours. Ride them both. while you may settle on the HD for your own reasons, I think the Triumph will surprise you. Very versatile bike.
I don't know a lot about HDs, but the Super Glides look pretty good.
